At first glance, you might think that system razors are not major polluters of the environment, as the handles are made of sturdy and durable plastic and are relatively rarely disposed of compared to the cartridges. At second glance, we all know that this is not the case. Plastic remains plastic and a thoroughly environmentally harmful material.

There are various efforts to replace handles made from fossil plastic with sustainable, natural materials such as cork and bamboo or steel. We leave the evaluation of the usability, the perception of the design and the feel that is relevant to you in everyday life, as well as the assessment of the pricing, to you and your requirements for a good shave alone. Instead, we welcome any approach that does something for the environment and thus for the preservation of our planet. For our system razors, we too rely on handles that are made of high-quality steel and offer an optimal and long-lasting user experience.

However, we have no choice but to address the issue of cartridges, which has not been addressed by any company in the world so far. On average, the cartridges of system razors are discarded and replaced with new ones every three weeks. That doesn't sound dramatic at first. But it is, because the use of conventional system razors produces around 36,000 tons of non-recyclable plastic waste per year. Nobody in industry is talking about this to date, neither among established players nor among producers of sustainable razors, although it affects everyone. The topic of how many things that have a negative impact on the marketing strategy and are also considered insoluble are swept under the table. This is primarily due to the fact that the established plastic industry, but also the industry operating with sustainable handles made of steel, bamboo and cork, has not yet had any ideas and solutions for this and must continue to rely on plastic cartridges.

Our system razors consist of two components: The durable stainless steel handle and the cartridges made from our 99% bio-based material (excluding the steel blades). Cartridges that can be safely disposed of in a CO2-neutral manner.

Why is that so innovative? Because we are the FIRST and ONLY in the world that can produce SUSTAINABLE cartridges. The caps provided to protect the cartridges are also made entirely of our bio-based material. We also refrain from using gel strips for the sake of the skin and the environment. Contrary to all marketing promises, this is not only unnecessary, but usually only contains questionable, even toxic and irritating ingredients. Shaving cream and shower gel are completely sufficient for a pleasant and thorough shave.

The real difference? That is in the price, because Pink Tax is unfortunately a tool that many companies continue to exploit despite all criticism. An expensive razor just because it's nice to look at and pink? We have decided not to exploit this willingness and marketing-driven habit of paying more for a women's product and to consistently eliminate the pink tax for all our products.
